Giorgio Samorini

(Ethnobotanist, Italy)

Giorgio Samorini was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1957. He is an independent ethnobotanical researcher who has been investigating the traditional use of psychoactive plants and mushrooms in various cultures for decades. He has conducted research among ethnic groups in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Among his notable discoveries is the identification of the oldest known cult of psychoactive mushrooms in the Sahara Desert, dating back 9,000 years, and the study of the modern Bwiti cult.

Fernando Caudevilla - Doctor X

(Family doctor specialized in psychoactive substances, Spain)

Currently, he balances his role as a family physician at a health center with various projects and activities related to harm reduction, therapeutic use of psychedelics, chemsex, and cryptomarkets of the Deep Web, among others.

Òscar Parés

(Anthropologist, ICEERS, Spain)

Òscar Parés has a degree in Philosophy, Anthropology and a master's degree in Drug Addiction. He is the Deputy Director of ICEERS and coordinates the Synaptica Clinic. He has promoted the community development process that has resulted in the creation of the federation Red Micelio.

Javier Hidalgo

(Psychedelic researcher, Spain)

Trained in Biomedicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he holds a master's degree in Neuroscience from the Rovira i Virgili University. Interested in the intersection of science and philosophy, he has conducted studies on public health in cannabis users and a review on DMT at ICEERS. He has presented his work at international conferences such as Breaking Convention 2023 and ICPR 2024.

Estefanía Moreno

(Medical doctor and psychotherapist, Spain)

She holds a degree in Medicine, a master's in Transpersonal Psychology, Psychoneuroimmunology, and Integrative Medicine. Currently, she works as a physician and psychotherapist at the Synaptica Clinic, providing comprehensive support in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy processes.

Maja Kohek

(Medical anthropologist, ICEERS, Slovenia)

Maja holds a PhD in Medical Anthropology and Global Health and is a member of the Medical Anthropology Research Center (MARC) at Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, Spain. She works currently as a Research Coordinator at ICEERS, where her work focuses on the ritual use of psychoactive plants such as cannabis and ayahuasca, especially in the context of Global Mental Health and drug policy.

Dóra Révész

(Researcher/Epidemiologist, Netherlands)

Dóra Révész (PhD) is an independent postdoctoral researcher and epidemiologist, founder of the Psychedelic Association Fuerteventura. In collaboration with Dr. Débora González (Isabel I University), she is investigating the inclusion of ayahuasca to psychotherapy in grief patients. Dóra is a psychedelic integration coach and organizes several events in Fuerteventura to educate about the therapeutic role of psychedelics and their integration.

José Carlos Bouso

(Clinical psychologist, ICEERS, Spain)

José Carlos Bouso is a clinical psychologist and doctor in Pharmacology. He is the Scientific Director of ICEERS, where he coordinates studies on the potential benefits of psychoactive plants, mainly cannabis, ayahuasca and ibogaine.

Raúl del Pino

(Psychedelic specialist, writer and psychonaut, Spain)

Founder of Psiconautica.org in 1996, the first Spanish-language portal on drugs, he has focused on modified states of consciousness and transpersonal psychology. Author of the book MDMA, Sex and Tantra, Raúl combines scientific rigor with personal insights, exploring the relationship between psychoactives, sexuality and spiritual practices.

Mateo Sánchez

(Researcher, Spain)

Mateo is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam, where he has researched the political potentials of psychedelic substances. Theoretically, his work lies at the intersection of phenomenology, posthumanism, and Marxist analyses of political economy, among other areas.

J. Q. Arosa

(Science communicator, Fractalma, Spain)

Arosa has collaborated with the University Institute of Neuroscience (IUNE) and is currently studying Cognitive Science with a focus on Neuroscience, AI, and Physics. He is the founder and director of Fractalma, a non-profit project aimed at integrating neuroscience, psychology, and secular spirituality to publicly disseminate and translate scientific and technical knowledge into practical wisdom.

Lucas F. Borkel

(Neuropsychologist, Spain)

Lucas F. Borkel is the president of the Psychedelic Scientific Association (ACP). His background is in Philosophy and Neuropsychology. He combines teaching with research and scientific dissemination. His research focuses on the epistemology of psychedelic states and their risks, psychedelic phenomenology and consciousness studies.

Eduardo Hidalgo

(Psychologist, Spain)

Psychologist, master's degree in Drug Addiction, coordinator for ten years at Energy Control in Madrid. He is the author of several books, such as Sustainable Hedonism or Ketamine (Interzona Collection) and numerous articles in specialized magazines.

Rafael G. dos Santos

(Pharmacologist, Brazil)

He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and completed his post-doctoral studies at the Universidade de São Paulo. Currently, he is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto - Universidade de São Paulo (USP), in the Department of Neurosciences and Behavioral Sciences. He has over 100 publications on hallucinogens, with more than 70 of these publications focusing on ayahuasca.

Antoniu Llort

(Anthropologist, Spain)

He holds a PhD and is a professor in Social and Cultural Anthropology, with a Master's degree in Medical Anthropology and Global Health from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona.

Marta Pérez Carmona

(Neuropsychologist, Spain)

Marta holds a degree in Psychology, a Master's in Neuropsychology, and a Master's in Psychoexpressive Therapy. She currently works as a co-director at Inawe and is a therapist in the first clinical trial with 5-MeO-DMT in Madrid. She is also a co-founder of the Psychedelic Society of Costa Rica and serves as a coordinator for the Psychedelic Society of Madrid. Her interest focuses on the resilient nature of the human being.

Carlos Alonso

(Engineer, INAWE, Spain)

Spanish engineer and entrepreneur, concerned about the current mental health crisis in the world, founded INAWE, a non-profit organization for the development of the psychedelic therapy ecosystem.

Juan Carlos de la Cal

(Journalist, Spain)

A journalist with over 30 years of experience as a reporter in various national media outlets, specializing in social journalism. Now retired from the profession, he is a great connoisseur of the Amazon and Indigenous cultures, having produced numerous reports on issues affecting Amazonian culture and society. He is the vice president and co-founder of the Platform for the Defense of Ayahuasca (Plantaforma).

Juan París

(Psychiatrist, Spain)

A General and Child-Adolescent Psychiatrist of Venezuelan origin, he is a member of the psychedelic research team at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona. In this role, he serves as a researcher, guide, and therapist in psychedelic trials. Additionally, he is part of the board of directors of the Spanish Society of Psychedelic Medicine (SEMPsi). His primary clinical work is with the Migrant Assistance Service (SATMI).

Iker Puente

(Psychologist and Anthropologist, Spain)

Director of the Integrative Transpersonal Institute. He holds a PhD in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has degrees in Psychology and Social and Cultural Anthropology. He is trained in Transpersonal Psychotherapy and Holotropic Breathwork with Stanislav Grof, Gestalt Therapy, NLP, and Claudio Naranjo's SAT program, as well as in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).

Celia Morgan

(Psychopharmacologist, United Kingdom)

Celia Morgan is Professor of Psychopharmacology at the University of Exeter. She earned her bachelor's and doctoral degrees at University College London (UCL) and completed a fellowship program at Yale University. She worked at the University of Melbourne and is an Honorary Reader at University College London. She is academic lead for both Exeter Translational Addiction Partnership (ETAP) and Ketamine for Reduction of Alcoholic Relapse (KARE).

Lorena Terene

(Researcher, Brazil)

Lorena Terene has a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Physiology and Pharmacology from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. She has worked in basic research in neurobiology and has experience in behavioral neurobiology and molecular biology. A PhD student, she works with psychedelics and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Paula Sol

Psychologist, master in relational psychomotor therapy, trained in transpersonal psychology. Experience as a therapist in intervention with youth and families, people with functional diversity and project management. She currently coordinates the Catalonia delegation of Energy Control. She is part of the core team of the magazine Ulises.

Joan Manel Vilaseca

(Artist, Spain)

Son of booksellers and printers, graduated in Audiovisuals. For two decades he has worked as a fiction and documentary editor and teacher. He works as an administrator in several online communities, and since 2010 he grows and studies numerous species of plants, mainly medicinal and psychoactive. He collaborates with ICEERS and with different entities dedicated to harm reduction, activism and education about plants and their derivatives.

Iñaki Berazaluce

Marta Molina

(Journalist, Spain)

Independent journalist, specializing in human rights. She currently runs the podcast “Eutopías, lugares del buen vivir”. She has a degree in Humanities and Journalism and has lived in countries such as Palestine, Brazil and Mexico, where she has covered social movements, indigenous resistance and land defense movements. She has conducted journalistic investigations on the use of psychoactive substances and plants native to the Amazon and Mexico in Catalonia.

Christophe Sion

(Filmmaker, France)

Graduated from the Conservatoire libre du Cinema Français in Paris and from the Escuela de Narrativa y Audiovisual del Mediterráneo in Reus. He created the production company Hokusai Films in 2007. His experience in the field of documentaries on social issues includes titles such as: On the war on drugs, Drugstore, Beyond Heteronormativity, In my backyard...(nobody bits), WAAW - What about and about who?', Green witch project and Insostenible. Christophe has also co-directed the documentary És a l'aire, co-produced by Televisió de Catalunya.
